It was great to see that students have settled in well in their "new homes" for this week. Looked like the weather yesterday provided an excellent opportunity for most students and their partners to buy an ice-cream in a typical "Eiscafé" or to cycle along the river Rhine.
This morning we set off to visit the Zollverein in Essen (Zollverein Coal Mine Industrial Complex). Unfortunately, we were stuck in heavy traffic and the journey to the museum ended up being a lot longer than expected. This, however, did not affect the mood of our students and we all thoroughly enjoyed an interesting (but slightly shorter) tour through the industrial complex as well as visiting an exhibition in the "Ruhr Museum".
It was also a delight to see students using almost every opportunity to use their German language skills.
Tomorrow, we are going to "Phantasialand" (theme park). Bis morgen!
